San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York jailed after pleading no contest to prostitution charges

San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York pleaded no contest this week to two misdemeanor charges in Ohio following an arrest over the weekend. York was initially arrested on suspicion of engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools in East Palestine, Ohio, as part of an undercover sting operation conducted by the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force. The charge of engaging in prostitution was subsequently amended to disorderly conduct as part of a plea agreement.

York was sentenced to one day in jail for each count, to be served concurrently, and received credit for time already served. He was also ordered to pay a fine of $1,150 and complete an online course. Court documents indicate York responded to an online advertisement and arranged for sexual activity in exchange for $140.

Following the resolution of the legal matter, a seized cellphone was returned to York, and $160 was forfeited to the human trafficking task force. The San Francisco 49ers issued a statement indicating no further comment on the resolved legal issue, while the NFL acknowledged the situation and stated it would be reviewed under its personal conduct policy.
