Apple has officially unveiled the iPhone Duo, marking the company's first major design overhaul to its flagship smartphone in nearly two decades. Introduced on September 9, 2026, by new CEO John Ternus, this folding model represents a significant shift for the iPhone, featuring a book-style design that opens to reveal a larger display.
The new iPhone Duo boasts a 5.4-inch outer Super Retina XDR display and unfolds to an expansive 7.6-inch inner Super Retina XDR display, which is 50 percent larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max. When opened, it is touted as Apple's thinnest iPhone to date. Running on the new A20 Pro chip and an adapted version of iOS 27, the device is crafted from grade 5 titanium and comes in star white and night sky colors.
Positioned as a premium offering, the iPhone Duo will start at a price of $1,999. Pre-orders are scheduled to begin on October 16, with the device becoming available to consumers on October 23.
