Armed Man Arrested Near Trump Golf Course, Marine One Incident Under Investigation

Jeanine John Taele, 38, was observed by federal agents photographing and filming security preparations, and was subsequently found to have a loaded magazine in his pocket and a loaded pistol in his vehicle. A search of Taele's home uncovered additional weapons, including an illegally modified rifle, body armor, high-capacity magazines, and notebooks containing "concerning statements." Taele faces multiple felony charges, including possession of an unregistered short-barreled rifle and carrying a large-capacity magazine, and has pleaded not guilty with bail set at $250,000. Authorities have stated that no credible threat to the community has been identified.

The incident took place when Marine One departed from the White House Ellipse while commercial aircraft were still operating at nearby Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, an apparent lapse in required aircraft separation procedures. FAA regulations typically mandate a halt to commercial traffic during Marine One operations, a protocol reinforced after a fatal mid-air collision in January 2025.
