Over 150 migrants rescued after boat catches fire in English Channel

French and British rescue teams successfully rescued 157 migrants from a burning boat in the English Channel on Tuesday morning. The vessel, which had departed from French shores on Monday night, caught fire in French waters near Boulogne-sur-Mer, prompting a large-scale international operation.

The incident occurred after the boat's engine ignited, causing the vessel to rapidly deteriorate. While some migrants had initially declined assistance from French authorities, they accepted help as the situation became critical.

All 157 individuals were safely brought ashore to the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer for medical assessment. There were no immediate reports of injuries or fatalities following the perilous event.
