Ferrari unveils its first electric car with a staggering $640,000 price tag

Ferrari has officially unveiled its first fully electric vehicle, the Luce, a luxury car set to redefine the brand's approach to electrification. Priced at approximately $640,000 in Europe, with U.S. pricing anticipated to be similar, the Luce is equipped with four electric motors delivering between 1035 and 1050 horsepower. This powerful setup allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 193 mph, while offering an estimated range of up to 330 miles on a single charge.

Co-designed by Jony Ive and Marc Newson's firm LoveFrom, the Luce showcases an unconventional and polarizing design that marks a departure for Ferrari, being the company's first five-seater and four-door model. Its interior blends traditional luxury with physical controls, contrasting with the screen-heavy cabins of many contemporary EVs. Production is slated to begin in late 2026, with European sales starting later this year and a North American launch expected in the second quarter of 2027.

The debut of the Luce has generated mixed reactions, with some critics questioning its radical design, while others hail it as a "game-changer" for the iconic Italian automaker.
