UN condemns intensifying Israeli attacks in Gaza; Israel builds barrier, kills family of six

The United Nations Human Rights Office has strongly condemned the escalating Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip, highlighting that no area within the territory remains safe for Palestinians. A spokesperson for the office, Thameen Al-Kheetan, voiced concerns over potential war crimes, noting that at least 57 Palestinians, including children and women, were killed between July 13 and July 20.

Amidst these intensified attacks, an Israeli airstrike on July 21 tragically killed an entire family of six in Gaza City's Sabra neighborhood. The victims were identified as Firas Al-Masri, his wife Salsabeel, and their four children. The Israeli military acknowledged conducting the strike, stating its target was a Hamas militant, and is reportedly reviewing the incident following civilian casualties.

Further entrenching the division of the Palestinian enclave, Israel is reportedly constructing a significant earthen barrier inside Gaza. Satellite imagery indicates that over 23 kilometers (14 miles) of this barrier have been built in recent months, separating the portion of the Gaza Strip under Israeli control from the rest of the territory. This construction along the "yellow line," initially conceived as a temporary ceasefire boundary, is fueling Palestinian concerns that it is becoming a permanent border.
