Videos reveal GOP candidate's crude sexual remarks

Videos have recently surfaced revealing Republican congressional nominee Brandon Herrera's history of making vulgar sexual statements and derogatory comments about women. These remarks, found in his videos, social media, and podcasts as an online personality known as "The AK Guy," have come under scrutiny. Herrera has downplayed the comments, characterizing them as jokes.

The emergence of these past statements places top Republican leaders in an awkward position as they back Herrera, who is running in a key Texas congressional district. This district's incumbent GOP congressman previously resigned due to sexual misconduct allegations, and Herrera's Democratic opponent is a woman.

The CNN review highlighted Herrera's repeated use of such language, which includes demeaning women's appearance and intelligence. The controversy underscores the ongoing challenges faced by political parties when past online content from candidates comes to light during campaigns.
