Harry and Meghan make first joint appearance in UK since returning

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan, made their first joint public appearance in the United Kingdom since their return to the country, engaging in a day of events in Nottingham on Thursday, October 15, 2026. This visit marked their first joint public outing since relocating to Britain two months prior with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The couple, who had stepped back from royal duties six years ago, received a warm reception from cheering crowds and schoolchildren as they undertook several engagements.

During their day in Nottingham, a city significant as the location of their maiden joint official engagement in 2017, the Duke and Duchess visited multiple charities. They began at the Community Recording Studio, a youth and community organization that Prince Harry had previously supported with a £1.1 million donation in 2025. The itinerary also included stops at Himmah Hub, a prominent food bank to which Meghan had contributed £10,000 from a charity cookbook's sales, and Epic Partners, an organization focused on supporting disadvantaged young people through various programs.

Despite their status as non-working royals, the couple's return and public engagements garnered considerable media attention. They were seen interacting with well-wishers, posing for selfies, and shaking hands, with Meghan reportedly expressing that it was "great to be back." While their activities were presented with some royal-style elements, such as the use of their Sussex titles, King Charles III had previously clarified their roles as akin to "private citizens" with charitable interests following their unexpected move back to the UK.
