British far-right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos deported from US after immigration arrest

British far-right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos has been deported from the United States following an immigration arrest by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Yiannopoulos was arrested on Thursday at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport and subsequently deported to the United Kingdom on Friday. The DHS confirmed his deportation on Saturday.

According to the DHS, Yiannopoulos, who is 41, legally entered the U.S. in May 2019 but overstayed his visa, thereby violating immigration laws. An immigration judge issued a final order of removal on July 22 after he failed to appear for a scheduled immigration hearing. Reports indicate that Yiannopoulos was in New Orleans to attend a concert by rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West.

The DHS stated that the current administration is actively working to ensure that individuals residing in the country illegally cannot fly domestically unless it is for self-deportation. This comes as Yiannopoulos, known for his provocative commentary, had previously been a vocal proponent of stringent immigration enforcement and mass deportations.
