Deadly bomb explosion at Moscow restaurant declared ‘terrorist attack’ by mayor

A deadly bomb explosion at the Balzi Rossi, an upscale Italian restaurant in central Moscow, on Saturday, August 1, 2026, resulted in three fatalities and 21 injuries. The incident, which involved a homemade explosive device, occurred when a woman attempted to enter the establishment with the bomb but was intercepted by a security guard. The woman carrying the device, the security guard, and a restaurant patron were killed in the blast.
