Pentagon releases fresh UFO videos in new document dump, sparking renewed speculation

The Pentagon, through the US Department of War, has released a fresh collection of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) files, marking the fifth such disclosure this year. This latest "document dump," made public on August 7, 2026, comprises 41 new files, including various documents, images, and videos from multiple government agencies such as the FBI, CIA, and the Pentagon itself. The records offer a historical span, with some dating back to 1950 and others as recent as 2026, sparking renewed public interest and discussion surrounding UFOs.

Among the newly released materials are notable incidents, including detailed accounts of an encounter over the Gulf of Oman in September 2021, where Special Operations forces on an AC-130J gunship observed approximately 25 instances of UAPs maneuvering aggressively. Another file recounts a military pilot's sighting of a large, silent triangular object over Afghanistan in 2002. Additionally, the release features contemporary reports from 2026, including thermal video footage from a U.S. government special agent observing slow-moving infrared anomalies in the western United States.

These ongoing disclosures are part of the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE), established by an executive order from President Trump earlier this year to enhance transparency regarding government records on UAPs. The Pentagon has indicated that it is actively preparing for further releases, suggesting that more information on these unexplained phenomena will continue to be made available to the public.
