Pilot reports drone collision while landing at JFK airport

A JetBlue pilot reported a drone collision during the final approach to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport on Monday morning, June 29, 2026. The pilot of JetBlue Flight 948, arriving from Las Vegas, stated the aircraft struck a drone at approximately 3,000 feet, reporting it hit "right above the cockpit."

Despite the pilot's report, the Airbus A321 landed safely without incident, and passengers deplaned normally. A subsequent post-flight inspection of the aircraft revealed no damage or physical evidence of a collision.
