BBC reveals Russia behind arson plot targeting UK PM; two convicted in court

The two convicted men were reportedly recruited via Telegram by a Russian-speaking handler known as "El Money," who offered cryptocurrency for carrying out the attacks and providing video evidence. While authorities have not officially confirmed direct state involvement, sources cited by the BBC suggest British and Ukrainian officials privately believe Russia was behind the scheme, which aimed to intimidate the Prime Minister and destabilize the UK.

This incident is viewed within a wider pattern of hybrid warfare attributed to Russia, involving online recruitment and efforts to sow social discord across Europe. The identity of "El Money" remains uncharged, although the BBC has linked the pseudonym to a Russian diplomat.
