A preliminary hearing for singer D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, has revealed new allegations concerning the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. On Friday, July 25, 2026, an LAPD detective testified that evidence from Burke's phone included photographs and text messages indicating he sexually abused Hernandez, impregnated her when she was 13, and coerced her into having an abortion in January 2024, a year before her alleged killing. These communications reportedly detailed discussions about contraception, fears of pregnancy, and the abortion itself.

Burke has entered a plea of not guilty to charges including first-degree murder, lewd acts with a child under 14, and mutilation of human remains. The prosecution presented graphic photographs of Hernandez's dismembered body, which was discovered in the trunk of Burke's Tesla in September 2025, roughly five months after her believed death in April 2025. Additional evidence introduced included financial records and online purchases for items such as chainsaws and a cadaver bag, suggesting an attempt to dispose of her remains.
