North Korea aids Russia with missiles/troops; Iran condemns Trump’s 'economic D-Day' threat

Recent reports indicate that Ukraine has accused Russia of utilizing North Korean ballistic missiles in its ongoing conflict and receiving additional troops from Pyongyang. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously warned that Moscow was obtaining more ballistic projectiles and personnel from its ally, highlighting a deepening military partnership. North Korea has reportedly supplied Russia with millions of artillery shells and numerous short-range ballistic missiles, with thousands of North Korean troops, believed to be special operations forces, also deployed to Russia's Kursk region to assist in the war effort since late 2024.

Meanwhile, former U.S. President Trump issued a threat of an "economic D-Day" against Iran, vowing unprecedented economic warfare and isolation for any nation offering support to Tehran. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi swiftly condemned these threats, labeling them as "failed policies" and a distraction from America's internal financial challenges, such as mounting debt and rising interest rates.

Araghchi characterized U.S. sanctions as "economic terrorism" that imperils global economic stability and national sovereignty. In response, Iran's military leadership, including Major General Ali Abdollahi, pledged a "devastating" and decisive retaliation to any new U.S. threats, further escalating international tensions.
