The lack of progress is largely due to conflicting views on the interim deal's implementation. Iran contends that the negotiation period never formally commenced, citing the United States' failure to uphold initial commitments such as lifting oil sanctions and the naval blockade, as well as releasing frozen assets. Meanwhile, Trump has reiterated his stance that Iran is unwilling to agree to terms he deems necessary, particularly concerning its nuclear ambitions.
