Russia Unleashes Terrifying Ballistic Missiles and Glide Bombs on Ukraine

Russia has recently escalated its attacks on Ukraine, employing a significant number of ballistic missiles and a record volume of glide bombs against various cities and infrastructure. Civilian casualties have reportedly reached their highest monthly level since 2022 due to these intensified bombardments, which have targeted locations such as Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Sumy. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has urgently appealed for additional air defense systems, particularly Patriot interceptors, noting a substantial decrease in supplies compared to the previous year, leaving the country vulnerable to these difficult-to-intercept weapons.

Simultaneously, reports indicate Russia is continuing its practice of seizing Ukrainian-owned homes and properties in occupied territories. Since 2024, Russian occupation authorities have confiscated or prepared for confiscation over 34,000 such properties, designating many as "ownerless" and intending to transfer them to Russian citizens. This systematic seizure of private residences, including apartments, houses, and dachas, has primarily affected areas like Mariupol. International human rights organizations have condemned these actions as unlawful under international law.
