UN commission finds Israel deliberately targeting children in Gaza genocide

A United Nations independent commission of inquiry recently concluded that Israeli authorities and security forces have deliberately targeted Palestinian children in the ongoing conflict. The report, released on June 23, 2026, details findings that these actions constitute genocide and atrocity crimes in the Gaza Strip, and war crimes in the West Bank.

The commission's findings include the intentional killing of children, the widespread destruction of critical infrastructure such as hospitals and schools essential for child welfare, and severe mistreatment, including torture and sexual violence, of children in Israeli detention facilities. These actions have led to unprecedented death, injury, and trauma among Palestinian children, reportedly continuing even after a ceasefire in October 2025.

In response to the report, the Israeli Foreign Ministry has vehemently rejected its conclusions, labeling them a "libelous sham" and a "propaganda piece." The ministry also stated that the commission "actively conceals clear evidence of terrorist atrocities" and overlooked crimes against Israeli children.
