A hacking group identifying itself as the "Department of Peace" has released personal details for over 41,000 employees and contractors affiliated with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The leaked information, published on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, includes names, job titles, email addresses, phone numbers, and office locations for staff across various DHS agencies, including US immigration agents. The data also reportedly references internal system access and participation in sensitive operations.

The "Department of Peace" claims the breach was a response to recent statements by DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin regarding increased operations by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The group alleges the data was obtained from an Okta single sign-on service used by DHS, though Okta has stated it has no evidence of its systems being compromised. The transparency nonprofit Distributed Denial of Secrets (DDoSecrets), which helped publish the archive, asserted the release aims to promote accountability.

This incident marks a significant exposure of government personnel information, raising concerns among national security experts about the potential risks to individuals and ongoing investigations. More than half of the exposed records pertain to Customs and Border Protection, with approximately 10,000 relating to ICE.
