July 4th Celebrations Marred by Multiple Shootings Across US, Leaving Dead and Wounded

Independence Day celebrations across the United States on July 4th, 2026, were tragically overshadowed by a series of shooting incidents that left several people dead and numerous others wounded, including children. Major cities reported multiple acts of violence impacting festive gatherings.

In Boston, five separate shootings resulted in two fatalities and 11 injuries. New York City's Coney Island area experienced a cookout shooting that wounded eight individuals, four of whom were children. Further violence was reported in San Antonio, where an 18-year-old was killed and five others, including two young girls, were injured at an apartment complex.

Philadelphia also saw a deadly Fourth of July with two men killed and four injured in various shooting events. Additionally, Milwaukee authorities investigated multiple non-fatal shootings, involving a 17-year-old and a 22-year-old among others.
