Pastore was discovered deceased at his residence on City Island in the Bronx on Saturday, August 1, by a neighbor after he had not been heard from for several days. While an official cause of death was not immediately disclosed, some reports indicated natural causes. Born on July 14, 1946, in the Bronx, New York City, Pastore served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War before pursuing a drama degree from Pace University and beginning his acting career in his 40s.

Before his breakthrough role in "The Sopranos," Pastore appeared in other notable films such as "Goodfellas" and "Awakenings" in 1990. His manager confirmed his passing, and he is survived by his daughter, Renee.
